Moving in the Fall

Advantages:
1. The weather is typically good
If you choose to move in the summer months, you could likely have to deal with high temps and humidity. To put it differently, you may sweat a lot when you load and unload your belongings. Alternatively, the winter season conditions can make moving nippy, miserable, and in many cases hazardous.
The autumn is a great time to move because you avoid extremes of hot or cold. Fall temps are generally enjoyable, and you probably do not need to worry about wintry or icy driving conditions.
2. Professional movers might have lower rates
Summertime is usually the peak season for moving. Since autumn comes after peak season, you could be able to get a better price when working with a moving company in Austin.
3. Professional movers might have more availability
An additional advantage of moving over the fall months is that the moving company may be in a better position to allow for your moving dates, since their calendar is not as packed.
Disadvantages:
1. It may be harder to sell your home
If you don't at the moment rent and haven't sold your residence yet, then fall may be a difficult time of the year to get a buyer to close on it. Although, we must say that in the current market, this might not be too much of an issue.
2. It might be tough to "settle into" a new home right before the holiday season
Most people are consumed with the holidays, either on a personal or a business level. Relocating to a different spot is often anxious at any time and could become even more so just before the most hectic time of the year (at least for many individuals). In addition, in case you have young children, you'll have to really coordinate the move so that they can transition into a new environment with marginal anxiety - and autumn may not be a good time to make that transpire.
3. The weather could be erratic
Autumn weather is generally pleasant, and free from extremes in temp or humidity. However, there exists still an element of volatility relating to autumn weather patterns. For instance, should you be moving to or from a northern climate, there's always the chance that a sudden snowstorm may strike at the end of fall - potentially in November, or even October! There is also a chance that you will have to deal with an unexpected heat wave, or rapid declines in temperature.
Keep in mind, regardless of whether you decide to move in the fall or not, you should definitely consider using the assistance of professional movers to make your transition as effortless as is possible.
